The Outlander X mr offers a sizeable, 1,300-pound (590 kg) towing capacity and a 2-inch receiver hitch as standard equipment.
A higher air intake ensures performance in mud and water. A dual-room air filtration design captures dirty air in one portion of the box and clean air in another section before it sends the air to the engine. The X mr family of ATVs have their no-tools air box placed at a high and centralized location for filtering and processing air. Located on the front rack, the larger radiator on the Can-Am Outlander X mr is kept out of the muddy water and wears a protective, vented cover, ensuring all-day rides in the deep mud. The CVT housing has 13 bolts to ensure a proper seal and also includes an integrated drain plug. The system includes standard engine braking with High, Low, Park, Neutral and Reverse gears. The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) means no shifting is required. Updates include the design of the pistons, a new 54 mm throttle body and a new engine head from the Can-Am Maverick. The revamped 89-hp, 80º 976cc liquid-cooled, eight-valve Rotax V-twin engine in the Outlander X mr 1000R has gained 9% more power and leads the ATV industry in performance.
